Event description:

The project presented by Dr. Romani Marco is a case study about the application of technology in diverse and unusual sectors. The focus will be on the strategic and sensitive aspects of technical, economical, financial, political and geo political themes, all which must be well managed for the success of the project.
The case study will examine in further detail the application of LNG, a natural liquid gas used in extractive industries as an efficient substitute for diesel. The value of the project is 900 Million USD.
The case takes place in Congo RDC, a high-risk and complex country: this is increasing the level of challenge.

Dr. Marco ROMANI is Senior Advisor in Industrial Complex Development and Business Originator/Facilitator.

Dr. Romani possess professional experience covering design and calculation of process plant up to Contract development assistance & risk evaluation, Negotiations support, Claims analysis and Dispute resolution in uncomfortable law environment like as Middle East, Russian and Balkan Peninsula. Appointed as External Executive Director for Strategic Business Implementation, he is in charge to support the innovation and diversification in business processes and related infrastructure support network.
He is currently Advisor for world-class Oil & GAS and EPC Company.
Dr. Romani has also been strongly experienced into “Private Commercial diplomacy” assisting many Ambassadors based in Rome (Italy) during their mandate. Such specialized new type of diplomacy plays a significant role in global trade, investments and R&D activities.

Ph.D. is Professor of Marketing at the University of Malta, and at the University of Bologna, Italy. He continues to be actively involved in
doctoral, master’s and staff development programmes and has lectured in Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, United Kingdom, France, United States, Australia, Singapore and China. His work includes papers published in the Journal of Advertising; Journal of Advertising Research; Journal of Business Research; Industrial Marketing Management; Journal of Marketing Education and European Journal of Marketing. A number of his papers have received awards.

Ph.D. in Accountancy, Bocconi University. She he is currently Full Professor at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. Senior Professor at SDA Bocconi, and MISB Bocconi. She has been Associate Visiting Professor at STERN School of Business, New York University
(1995-1998 and 2008-2012) and at INSEAD, Fontainebleau (1999 -2000). Sometimes consultant to the United Nation Development Program and the European Union for management training projects in Eastern Europe, Russia, Kirghizstan and Kazakhstan. She has been consulting to the industry on performance measurement systems design and implementation.

Event Description

LGI is the distribution center for Gucci Group and, initially, it distributed only Gucci brand products.
Following the acquisition of other brands in less than three years it realized new offices in Switzerland, in Vezia and Cadempino, and a new logistics center in Bioggio, opened in November 2003. The products, garments and accessories of famous brands, are distributed worldwide to stores directly managed by the Group and franchise stores, duty-free boutiques, specialty stores and multi-brand.
In 2003 LCS managed the automation of the worldwide distribution center and in 2006, it followed the extension of the same, adjusting the automation system. Today it manages for LGI assistance activities.

Francesco Ciabuschi is Professor of International Business at Uppsala University’s Department of Business Studies.
He has been also deputy head of department and director of research. He has a PhD in International Business from Uppsala University.
He teaches at the undergraduate, graduate, executive MBA, and doctoral programs. He is also a Graduate and PhD thesis supervisor.

Olimpio Pini is CEO and Multidisciplinary project leader at Pini Swiss Engineers.
He previously had experience in many engineering projects: AlpTransit, the new Lugano Ponte Tresa railway, road traffic engineering of Lugano city, just to name a few.
He graduated from ETH Zurich in Engineering in 1980 and has a postgraduation in Management of Technologies and in Complexity Management with System Dynamics at St Gallen University.
