Professor

Filippo Carlo Wezel is Professor of Organization and Management at USI. PhD (Bologna), M. Sc. (Bologna), Filippo Carlo Wezel was appointed Professor of Organization theory at the Faculty of Economics in September 2009. He is also Permanent Visiting Professor at EM Lyon (France) and Senior Extra-mural Fellow of CentER (Netherlands).  With a PhD in Management from the University of Bologna, he previously held appointments at the University of Groningen (post-doc) and at Tilburg University (assistant and, then, associate professor). He acquired further academic experience as visiting researcher/professor at the Wharton Business School (University of Pennsylvania, USA), at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and at Lille I (France).

    Professor

    Marco Ottaviani teaches Economics at Bocconi and Managerial Economics at SDA Bocconi.

    He recently returned to Italy after globe-trotting for some twenty years. After earning a doctorate from MIT, he became tenured professor of economics at the London Business School and professor of management and strategy at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.

    Program overview and structure

    – Master the basic tools of microeconomic analysis and apply them to business decision making

    – Have a clear understanding of how firms price their products depending on their cost structure and the competitive environment in which they operate; gain expertise in cost accounting system design

    – Understand and be ready to apply the strategies that firms use to gain and sustain competitive advantage

    – Analyze the performance of markets both for competing firms and in terms of social welfare
